Launch Customer of Boeing 787 Dreamliner

A new page in aviation history is about to be written with the introduction of ANA’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner. As the launch airline, ANA has been involved in its development from the beginning.

The Dreamliner features new technologies providing unparalleled levels of comfort to passengers and value to airlines. Passengers will benefit from the larger windows with electro-chromatic shades, bigger onboard luggage storage and more refreshing atmosphere. The use of composite material and advanced aerodynamics means it is the first mid-size airplane capable of flying long-range routes while cutting fuel consumption for shorter routes.

The Dreamliner`s inaugural service was a charter flight from Tokyo Narita to Hong Kong on 26 October 2011. ANA has ordered 55 of these aircraft and has been operating on its domestic Japanese routes since November 2011 and then expand to its international flights. The first regular long-haul international operation has been between Haneda and Frankfurt since January 2012.
